Welcome to Angstmas 2024
Title from Party Tattoos by dodie
Part of the TLH Tattoo Shop AU
This is a sample from a multi-chapter fic idea I have for LuciexGrace in my TLH Tattoo Shop AU, so please let me know if you like it or want to be tagged when it eventually gets posted. I'm aware Lucie and Grace might seem a little OOC here, but this is how I picture their relationship in this universe
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Black Lipstick Will Never Be A Sin
Normally, at this point in the tattoo, Grace would be blissed out. Eyes closed, lips opened slightly. It was a sight Lucie was used to, because in all of the times she had tattooed Grace, the reactions were always the same.
The tattoo bliss always came before the little snores that signalled Grace had fallen asleep. She'd tried to explain it to Lucie a couple times before, something about her weirdly high pain tolerance or some yoga technique that she learned from Matthew when he was in his short-lived crunchy phase.
But not today.
No closed eyes, open mouths, or little snores. Just Grace staring ahead with empty grey eyes. Dull in a way that they never were.
Black lipstick, that was new too. She'd worn it almost every day for the past month. It went with the new all-black clothes she'd been trying out. Thin, oversized sweaters and baggy faded jeans. None of which was Grace. Not even slightly.
Gone was her black honey lipstick. The one recommended to her by Eugenia after her crush on Arwen from Lord of The Rings. It was the same shade Liv Tyler had worn.
Lucie couldn't remember a time when her lips weren't painted in the glossy purplish sheen. It had been a long time since she'd seen Grace in black lipstick.
Gone were her cropped science-pun t-shirts and mini skirts. But the Mary Jane's stayed. Though right now they were little more than loafers.
This girl sitting in her chair looked like Grace and talked like Grace, but she wasn't Grace. At least, she wasn't Lucie's Grace.
"How are you feeling, Gracie? Still good to go?"
Grace nodded, not looking at her.
“I need verbal consent to keep going, Gracie, you know that. We’ve done this enough times.”
"Just keep going and don't call me that."
Her harsh tone made Lucie stop the gun and look back up at her face, which now had an annoyed look plastered to it, grey eyes wide open.
"Okay. What's going on?" she asked, setting the tattoo gun down and removing her latex gloves.
Grace huffed in response. "Nothing is going on. I just want this to be over with."
"It isn't nothing. I've been tattooing you since we were sixteen and doing illegal stick-n-pokes and I've been calling you 'Gracie' since basically forever."
"Maybe I've just outgrown it. Can you just continue with the tattooing please?"
"Math literally called you Gracie yesterday. I was there. And no, not until you tell me what's wrong."
"Matthew is my brother and as my brother, he has privileges that you do not. Just as you do with James." she explained in that overly polite way of hers that seemed almost rehearsed. "And it took me a long time to finish that sketch and I want it on my body as soon as possible, if you would be so kind as to do so."
The sketch Grace was referring to was the basis for this whole session. An almost large rib piece that spanned from her first few ribs, almost touching the side of her breast. It was a beautiful design; a spider's web connected to vines, all twisty and dark, filled with dead leaves and vague references to flowers. But the pièce de résistance had to be the moth caught in the center of the web, trapped.
It was haunting and beautiful, the best sketch Grace had given her yet.
"Fine." Lucie said, casting her eyes downward and sliding on another pair of gloves before picking the gun back up and starting again on the stark black vines.
It was silent between them for a while. Only the sounds of tattoo gun buzzing. They were the only ones in the shop, with it being so late that everyone else had gone home.
It made the silence more deafening.
Grace was the one to break the silence, just as Lucie was starting to clean up the last bits of blood and ink from the fresh design. "I don't like how Gracie sounds anymore."
Lucie stilled for a second. She didn't respond. Just kept on with what she was doing, wrapping the gauze along her ribs. Grace kept on talking.
"It sounds too much like Daisy. Gracie. Daisy. It drives me mad. Absolutely up the wall when you call me that. I thought I should tell you before..." she trails off, eyes looking anywhere but at Lucie.
"Before what?" This time, Lucie couldn't help but respond.
"Nothing. You'll find out later."
"Later? What will I find out later?"
Grace laughed. Lucie missed that sound. She hadn't heard it in what felt like so long. "This is our last time doing this. Our last tattoo. I wanted it to be special."
That wasn't what Lucie was expecting. She stilled, completely frozen as she stared up at Grace. Who didn't even look like she cared. Not even slightly.
"What do you mean? Our last tattoo?" Lucie couldn't help but feel frantic. "I've given you all of your tattoos. Since we were sixteen, Gracie."
Grace nodded, sitting up slightly to finish up the gauze herself, since Lucie had been too shocked to continue on. "Alastair's going to be doing my next one, I think. We've been working on this watercolor design, I think it'll make a nice sternum piece, maybe a spine. I'll show you when he gets back next week."
"Grace."
She just kept talking, ignoring Lucie.
"I'm actually really excited about it. I've been admiring Alastair's work for years, you know."
"Grace."
"I know it probably hurts you, but I promise, I'll be in excellent hands."
"Gracie!" Lucie yelled at last, no longer able to contain it. Grace had been off all night. Had this been why? If it was, then why did she seem so happy about it. "We've been good, had a good thing going. You design, I tattoo. Why now?"
"I just need a change. And you need more clients than me."
"I have plenty of clients. You're just my favorite."
"This was the last time, Lucie, I'm sorry." Grace's tone had started to waver. Lucie thought she might be starting to cry.
"Can you at least tell me why?"
"I was thinking about what Cordelia might think."
"Think about what?"
"Think about you tattooing me. It must drive her mad. Just like it does when you call me Gracie and her Daisy." she says, hopping off of the chair and pulling her sweater back down and using the sleeve to wipe the tears they were both ignoring.
She didn't need aftercare instructions. They'd done this enough times.
She went to the rack of coats, grabbing her black coat, Lucie was there when she bought it. She told her it made her look like Sherlock Holmes. Grace had laughed and said she was more of a Watson type.
"Cordelia doesn't care."
"That's what she tells you. Why would she tell you? No one wants to be the jealous girl."
"She has no reason to be jealous. You're my best friend. It's just a tattoo."
Grace's eyes widened. Her mouth dropped open in shock. "You haven't told her."
"That's besides the poi-"
"She doesn't know who I was to you. She's clueless to our history. I'm just the best friend to her. She has no idea who I really am."
"And I'm going to tell her. But for now, Cordelia doesn't care."
"Cordelia doesn't know."
"She will eventually."
"Eventually." Grace laughed. It was bitter as the nightshade Lucie had tattooed on her bicep when they were nineteen and in love. "And why would she care then? She'll be your wife by then. And it won't be easy to divorce you, trust m-"
"Gracie. Enough."
"What? It's the truth. You won't tell her until you absolutely have to. I know you. And because I know her too, she'll be jealous. Tell me. How many of her tattoos are yours? Or better yet, how many of hers were done by James?"
"It doesn't matter, I'm not jealous of James and Cordelia isn't jealous of you."
That silenced the blonde girl.
Grace turns away from Lucie, slipping her long coat over her shoulders. She doesn't say anything as she gathers her things and walks towards the door, leaving Lucie to lock up.
She turned back just slightly, hand on the doorknob, only the black of her lipstick was visible to Lucie. It was all she could see as Grace began to speak once more.
"You think Cordelia won't be jealous of me, once she knows. But I'm the first wife and she'll be the second, Luce, she'll always be jealous of me."
And with that, she was out the door. The door's bell ringing couldn't compete with the ringing of Lucie's ears.
Her phone lit up beside her. Cordelia flashing as it did. She declined it.
A bomb had been dropped and she'd been left to deal with the aftermath. Alone.
Interlude: Space and Time
As many have said before, Space is often associated with visual art, and Time is associated with music. That said, some forms of each medium can be said to have more influence from the opposite Aspect. Take photography, for example: a visual art that is nonetheless closely associated with Time. If you're a fan of Life is Strange, you may recall Mr. Jefferson citing filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock for the phrase "little pieces of time" to describe film—or, perhaps, photography. Now, I couldn't find a damn thing on the web that attributes a quote like that to Hitchcock, and I'm not going to take the word of a man who says "selfie-expression" as gospel. That said, it's a perfect way to describe Time's association with photography. Time is concerned with moments, distinct spaces in each timeline which can be occupied and then manipulated by a Time player. So, although photography is a visual medium, the principles of Time have a lot more influence.
On the other hand, if you've ever been to a Catholic Mass—one where the whole congregation sings the hymns together with the choir—recall how the music and chanting grew to fill the entire space, how each arpeggiated chord extended from the mouths of the faithful and seemed to echo from every corner. Acoustics is a branch of physics which describes how sound moves through a space. Knowledge of acoustics is vital when designing a space for optimal sound quality, whether it's a church, concert venue, theatre, et cetera. It's important to note that physics and theatre performance—in particular, the stage and setting—are also closely associated with Space. By using principles of acoustics, one can ensure that the right sounds are amplified, sharpened, or sustained through an echo, while filtering out undesired ones. The Time Aspect is also closely related to technology, as well as repetition, so it's not unusual to see Dave modifying samples in his music, or Aradia's association with the music box. Space, on the other hand, is associated with organic sounds and symbols—the croak of a frog, for example, or Jade's ability to encourage her plants to grow by playing music for them.
It's important that one understands both their Aspect and its opposite. Without this deeper knowledge and appreciation, players risk becoming obliterated by the most negative qualities of their Aspect. Equius refused to rise up against authority and take control of his place in the narrative, so he was swallowed up by the Void and became largely irrelevant to the big picture. Gamzee even used his indigo blood to omit key information in Rose's journal, before it made its lengthy journey through space and time. Engaging with Time while failing to appreciate Space means that a Time player will struggle to see the bigger picture, always rushing from moment to moment and judging each without its proper context. They want to be present for everything, to have a hand in shaping fate—much like an overzealous Light player, who feels they might wither without the spotlight, or the self-obsessed Heart player, whose Main Character Syndrome can easily become terminal. (These three Aspects are next to each other in the Aspect Wheel for good reason.) In the end, they'll likely burn themselves out from the effort. Meanwhile, a Space player who neglects Time risks relinquishing their ability to impose their will upon the universe, favoring passive observation and failing to act when they're needed most. Like an overly-cerebral Mind player, paralyzed by choice, or a sullen Void player, unable to break the surface of an ocean of doubt, a Space player who has receded from responsibility will be a whisper beneath the waves. Drowning, after all, is actually a deceptively silent affair.
Steps in Sampling Design for Reliable Research Results
Steps in Sampling Design for Reliable Research Results
An effective sampling design is vital for producing valid and generalisable research results. It is crucial for ensuring results that are specific and acceptable to the scholarly community. Understanding the steps in sampling design in research methodology aids researchers in making findings and significantly reducing the potential for bias.
A good sample design is an ethical one, ensuring the research purpose and overall validity. Incorrect sampling choices, such as vague criteria or improper methods, produce biased data as well as less than credible findings. These are problems that arise early in research, and that is why experts are advised by researchers regularly to avoid them.
2. What Is Sampling Design in Research Methodology?
Sampling design is the sequential method adopted for choosing a sample of a population. Sampling design gives directional guidance in research work and influences the validity and quality of results.
There are generally two broad categories of sampling methods
Probability sampling: All members of the population are given a known equal opportunity of being picked. They include random sampling, stratified sampling, and cluster sampling.
Non-probability sampling: Population members do not have the same chance of being chosen. Examples are quota, purposive, and convenience sampling.
Selection of the appropriate sampling design ensures information will be representative of the population, and results of the study are believable.
Step 1: Define the Target Population
The initial one is the definition of your study population. This is the identification of the demographic features, the boundaries, and in what way it relates to your research question.
An ill-defined population will result in spurious or over generalized conclusions. For instance, if you are conducting a study on the employment status of city youngsters, then you will define the age group, place in the city, and employment status. Otherwise, you would be supplied with useless data or even miss out on some crucial subgroups.
Step 2: Work out the Sampling Frame
The sample frame is the actual source or list from which your participants are going to be sampled. It should be as accurate and complete as possible to best reflect the population described.
Examples of typical ones include government databases, institutional records, or web registers. Applying an old or biased frame introduces error and weakens your results. A good sampling frame provides each eligible participant with an equal opportunity for selection.
Step 3: Choose the Sampling Method
This involves choosing the way in which individuals will be chosen from the sampling frame. Means depend on the aim of your study.
Probability Sampling Methods
Simple random sampling: Each member has an equal probability of being selected.
Stratified sampling: The population is classified into subgroups and the samples are obtained proportionally.
Cluster sampling: Groups (or clusters) are sampled randomly.
Non-Probability Sampling Techniques:
Convenience sampling: Members are selected based on convenience.
Purposive sampling: Members are chosen based on specific attributes or characteristics.
Quota sampling: Members are chosen with specific quotas for different categories.
The correct selection process keeps the data research-focused and relevant.
Step 4: Decide on the Sample Size
Sample size is important in statistical power as well as the generalisability of findings. The following dictates this:
Confidence level
Margin of error
Size of the entire population
Expected range of responses
Statistical calculations and tools like G*Power or Raosoft are normally used by researchers to calculate the sufficient sample size. Consulting an expert, however, guarantees that your calculation works and is practical.
Step 5: Implement the Sampling Plan
With the sample size and procedure chosen, the actual selection process begins. This step must be executed with uniformity and caution.
Moral principles also need to be followed. That involves informed consent and participant confidentiality. Clear documentation of the sampling process in detail maximises transparency and makes replication or reading of your work easier for others.
Step 6: Validate and Check the Sampling Process
Once administered, the sample can be tested to see whether it indeed represents the population of interest. The testing can be done by examining the diversity, distribution, or representativeness of your sample.
Comments from a peer reviewer, supervisor, or external expert are most valuable at this point. Where discrepancies or inconsistencies are found, researchers will need to be prepared to alter their sampling design.
Avoiding Common Sampling Design Mistakes
Understanding the steps in sampling design in research methodology is essential to avoid common mistakes that can weaken your research foundation. Some frequent errors include:
Employing an outdated or distorted sampling frame
Employing an unsuitable sample method
Employing an excessively small sample size that cannot generate meaningful conclusions
Such errors can be mitigated by careful planning, pilot running, and prompt feedback. Seeking advice at this point foresees repeating the work later in the research process at a cost.
How Expert Support Enhances Sampling Design
Professional insight can significantly improve your sampling design, especially when navigating the critical steps in sampling design in research methodology. Academic consultants offer guidance to:
Align your sampling plan with the research objectives
Determine the optimal sample size precisely
Prescribe successful strategies according to your research scenario
Ensure ethical and methodological compliance
That type of assistance increases your work's likelihood to be academic and acceptable to high-stakes publishing groups.
What Are the Key Steps in AI Chatbot Development?
In the era of instant digital interaction, AI chatbots have become indispensable tools for businesses seeking to enhance customer experience, streamline operations, and drive engagement. From handling customer queries to automating repetitive tasks, chatbots are revolutionizing how companies communicate. But how exactly is an AI chatbot created? Let’s walk through the key steps in AI chatbot development, from concept to deployment and optimization.
Tumblr media
1. Define the Chatbot's Purpose and Goals
Before jumping into development, it's crucial to define what the chatbot is supposed to do. Consider the following questions:
Will it answer customer service queries?
Will it guide users through a purchase journey?
Will it be used for internal tasks like IT support?
Setting a clear purpose allows for focused development and helps determine the required features, platforms, and AI sophistication. This phase also includes identifying the target audience and expected interactions.
2. Choose the Right Chatbot Type
There are mainly two types of chatbots:
Rule-based chatbots: Follow a predefined flow and can handle simple queries.
AI-powered chatbots: Use machine learning (ML) and natural language processing (NLP) to understand context, intent, and user sentiment.
For businesses looking to provide more personalized and adaptive interactions, AI chatbots are the go-to solution.
3. Select Development Tools and Platforms
Once you’ve determined the type, select the appropriate tools and platforms. Popular options include:
Development Frameworks: Microsoft Bot Framework, Google Dialogflow, Rasa, IBM Watson Assistant
Languages: Python, Node.js, Java
Hosting Platforms: AWS, Google Cloud, Azure
You also need to decide where the chatbot will be deployed—web, mobile apps, messaging platforms (like WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger), or all.
4. Design the Conversation Flow
Conversation design is one of the most creative and strategic parts of chatbot development. It includes:
Mapping out various user scenarios
Designing dialog trees for rule-based responses
Creating intents, entities, and responses for AI-based models
Considering fallback responses when the bot doesn’t understand
For AI-powered bots, the design must also factor in context retention and multi-turn conversations.
5. Train the NLP Model
If you're building an AI chatbot, you must train it to understand human language. This includes:
Defining intents (what the user wants)
Setting up entities (important data in user inputs)
Feeding sample utterances for each intent
Training the model with diverse input scenarios
The more varied the training data, the better your chatbot will perform. Using pre-trained language models like GPT or BERT can give you a strong starting point.
6. Integrate with Backend Systems
For the chatbot to be truly useful, it must integrate with databases, CRMs, ERPs, and APIs. For example:
An e-commerce chatbot might connect to inventory and order tracking systems.
A customer service bot may pull user data from a CRM like Salesforce.
An internal HR bot might integrate with employee databases and leave management tools.
This enables real-time, dynamic responses and allows the bot to perform complex tasks.
7. Test Extensively
Before deployment, thorough testing is essential:
Unit Testing: Each component (intent recognition, entity extraction, etc.)
Integration Testing: Interactions with external systems
User Testing: Real users interacting with the bot to check for errors, confusion, and gaps
Testing should focus on usability, accuracy, fallback behavior, and performance under load.
8. Deploy the Chatbot
Once the chatbot passes all tests, it’s ready for deployment. Ensure it’s launched on the desired platforms and integrated with necessary monitoring tools. Set up analytics dashboards to track:
Number of users
Engagement rate
Drop-off points
Intent success rate
Cloud-based services make deployment scalable and manageable.
9. Monitor, Analyze, and Optimize
Post-launch, the real work begins. Continuous improvement is key to chatbot success:
Collect conversation logs and analyze them for improvement areas
Use analytics to track usage trends and performance metrics
Regularly retrain the AI model with new data
Add new intents, flows, or languages based on user feedback
Optimization should be a regular process to keep the chatbot relevant and effective.
10. Ensure Security and Compliance
AI chatbots often handle sensitive data. It’s critical to:
Implement end-to-end encryption
Follow GDPR, HIPAA, or other industry-specific regulations
Use secure APIs and authentication mechanisms
Security measures must be baked in from the design phase, not added later.
Figma for Beginner
Figma, a collaborative interface design tool. In contrast to standalone programs like Sketch or Adobe Illustrator, Figma can be operated fully within a web browser, making it compatible with both Macs and Windows-based PCs. You may use it for free, too
Figma's ability to facilitate real-time collaboration on a single file is another significant benefit. If designers wish to share their work using traditional "offline" programs like Sketch and Illustrator, they usually need to export it to an image file and then send it by email or instant messaging. So here’s how to use Figma for beginners
Step 1
Visit www.figma.com on any website, select "Get started," input your information, and do a brief verification task. If you already have an account, sign in. A page with a few additional onboarding questions will appear once you complete that, and then Figma will launch a project file with some samples of what you can build using the tool.
Tumblr media
Step 2
Click the Figma button in the upper left corner, choose File, and then choose "New design file." This should open a new file in a new tab in your browser with an empty canvas. Let's begin a new project.
Tumblr media
Step 3
Press F to select the Frame Tool or you can click the Frame tool icon in the toolbar at the bottom of the status bar. In essence, a frame is an element that contains other components. If you have ever used Sketch or Adobe Illustrator, you will know that they work similarly to an artboard.
Tumblr media
There are two methods for making a frame. We may choose a preset Frame size from the Properties box on the right side of the window, or we can click and drag in the canvas area
Tumblr media
Step 4
Let's type some words. To create a Text layer, click anywhere in your frame after selecting the Text tool by pressing T. This will be incorporated into the design of a button. Use auto layout to dynamically modify alignment and fill in with colors. You'll save time and create responsive and flexible designs as a result.
Step 5
Create a rectangle and arrange the layers. To select the Rectangle tool, press R. Around the words you just made, drag a rectangle that resembles a button.
Tumblr media
The text is now obscured by the rectangle. We must utilize Figma's "Arrange" instructions to resolve this. Navigate to the Layers panel located on the window's left side. After selecting the text layer, a variety of choices will appear when you right-click. After selecting "Bring to front," the text will now be positioned above the rectangle.
Tumblr media
Step 6
Change the rectangle's color and give it rounded corners. Choose the newly formed rectangular shape. It is possible to round the corners of any form using the "Corner Radius" parameter in the Properties panel. Enter the amount of pixels you want to round each corner here.
Tumblr media
Step 7
Now, you’ll make a UI by using prototype. Add the frames and go to prototype at the right side of windows. Click the button you made then click the blue add button and drag it to the other frame to make the interaction. You can apply animation if you want and preview it to test it out.
Tumblr media
Now you're learning how to develop user interfaces. Feel free to explore Figma more. Developing concepts and references for websites, mobile applications, and other goods may be enjoyable. Additionally, the user experience prototype.
How to Choose the Best Wallpaper Dealers in Chennai
Tumblr media
Wallpaper dealers in Chennai are growing to be an important member in the field of decorating by providing an extensive assortment of stylish, useful, and cutting-edge wallpaper options to organisations, creatives, and households. The right wallpaper supplier could mean a major impact, depending on the extent to which you're improving a home, establishing an office, or adding uniqueness to an office environment. With a lot of options offered in Chennai, recognising how to locate the most effective one can be difficult. This guide will certainly walk you through all the essential elements to consider when picking the ideal dealer or wallpaper showroom in Chennai for your next project.
Evaluate Your Demands and Style
Prior to diving into the marketplace for wallpaper dealerships, it is very important to initially recognise your project objectives. Are you revamping a single space, an entire home, or a business residential or commercial property? Do you choose minimalistic patterns, strong prints, or textured surfaces? Are you seeking contemporary designs, classic styles, or environmentally friendly products?
Comprehending your very own choices will certainly assist you in limiting your options and communicating your vision clearly when checking out a wallpaper showroom in Chennai. An excellent supplier will lead you with options that line up with your taste, budget, and room performance.
Study Reputed Wallpaper Dealers in Chennai
On the internet, testimonials, social media sites, web pages, and design online forums can be exceptional sources to discover highly rated wallpaper dealers in Chennai. Seek dealers with regular positive feedback, quality product offerings, and responsive customer support. Google Maps evaluates Justdial, Sulekha, and Houzz listings are excellent starting points to develop a shortlist.
Also, examine whether the suppliers have a physical wallpaper showroom in Chennai where you can experience the products, shades, and structures firsthand. On the internet, catalogues are handy, but nothing beats seeing the wallpapers personally to evaluate true high quality.
Go To Several Wallpaper Showrooms in Chennai
Going to a minimum of 2 to 3 wallpaper showrooms in Chennai will give you a better understanding of the types of layouts readily available, the pricing, and the client service experience. Throughout your visit, make note of the following:
The showrooms offer a variety of wallpaper collections, including vinyl, 3D, distinctive fabrics, and more.
Accessibility of global brand names or local personalised designs.
The personnel provide understanding and support.
Sample accessibility and catalogue access.
They offer presentations or mock-up setups for your consideration.
A reputable wallpaper showroom in Chennai will supply personalised service and provide you innovative insights right into just how different styles can transform your area.
Contrast Quality and pricing.
Not all wallpapers are developed equally. It's critical to evaluate both the visual and material high quality of wallpapers before choosing. Some vital top-quality signs consist of:
The thickness and longevity of the wallpaper material are crucial factors to consider.
The wallpaper material should possess attributes that are either cleanable or water-resistant.
Discolouration resistance over time.
Reduce setup and elimination.
At the same time, compare prices throughout numerous wallpaper dealers in Chennai. Some stores offer prepared packages that include setup, wallpapers, and evaluation; these packages may be more affordable than purchasing each component separately. Watch out for prices that appear too excellent to be true because defective wallpaper could ultimately peel, change, or harm your wall coverings.
Enquire About Customisation Options
If you're seeking an absolutely special design that enhances your brand name or personal taste, personalisation is vital. Many cost-effective wallpaper dealers in Chennai supply customised solutions where you can choose colours, patterns, structures, or perhaps get your very own layout published.
Ask about:
Minimum order quantity for personalised layouts.
Printing strategies and colour precision.
Turnaround time and instalment procedure.
Customisation is particularly valuable for organisations, cafes, and showrooms that wish to produce a distinct identity for their insides.
Examine Installation Solutions
Also, one of the most gorgeous wallpapers can look unappealing if it's inadequately mounted. Trustworthy wallpaper suppliers in Chennai will typically have an in-house group or a network of professional installers trained in handling different wallpaper types.
Enquire about:
Examine the setup group's experience and training.
Time approximates the installment.
Site analysis or measurements prior to wallpaper options.
We provide post-installation care and support.
Choose dealers that take ownership of the entire process—from style appointments to post-installation evaluations.
Examine After-Sales Assistance
After-sales support is an often-overlooked yet important aspect. Good wallpaper dealers in Chennai ought to provide assistance with:
Product guarantee.
Repair service or substitute in case of problems.
We provide assistance with the treatment and maintenance of wallpaper.
Help with added roll requirements in the future.
Dealers who want to stay engaged with customers after the sale often show a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and product quality.
Examine Responsible and Sustainable Choices
If you're concerned about long-term viability, find out if the wallpaper showroom in Chennai offers eco-friendly wallpapers. These wallpapers are disposable, made from environmentally friendly materials, and may have received certification from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) or utilise low-VOC components.
Whenever safety and wellness are of utmost importance, such as in medical infrastructure, establishments, and wellness areas, renewable walls are ideal.
Ask for a portfolio and customer references.
Leading wallpaper dealers in Chennai typically showcase their overcome digital portfolios, social networks, web pages, or printed lookbooks. This allows you to see real-world setups and examine whether their previous jobs align with your expectations.
Client testimonies and recommendations also offer insights into the supplier's expertise, punctuality, and service quality.
Settle Based on Value, Not Simply price.
While a budget plan plays a role, don't base your final decision solely on price. Think about the total value you're obtaining: the variety of styles, top quality of wallpaper, customer support, installation know-how, and lasting longevity.
A wonderful wallpaper Showroom in Chennai uses a well-balanced mix of visual allure, usefulness, and price-- assisting you in changing your walls right into works of art that last.
Finding the best wallpaper dealers in Chennai shouldn't have proved tough. By doing your homework, visiting stores, comparing products, and evaluating amenities, you will be making a smart decision that improves the appearance and worth of the region you live in. Whether you're furnishing a business workplace or a comfortable bedroom, the appropriate wallpaper can express your individual style, set an environment and improve the environment.
Mobile Website Size: How to Optimize Your Site for Smartphones in 2025
Tumblr media
In today’s mobile-first digital world, a user’s first interaction with your website is more likely to happen on a smartphone than on a desktop. Whether you’re running a business, launching an eCommerce store, or publishing a blog, your mobile website size plays a crucial role in determining user experience, page speed, and even SEO performance.
But what does "mobile website size" really mean? Is it about screen dimensions? Page weight? Layout responsiveness? The truth is, it encompasses all these aspects—and optimizing them can significantly enhance how users engage with your site on mobile devices.
In this post, we’ll break down what constitutes mobile website size, explain why it matters, and walk you through best practices to optimize your site for peak performance on smartphones and tablets.
What Is Mobile Website Size?
When professionals refer to mobile website size, they are usually talking about three interconnected factors:
Visual dimensions – The screen width and layout behavior on different mobile devices.
Page file size – The total weight of your website (in KB or MB), affecting how fast it loads.
Responsive design – How your website adjusts its appearance based on screen size and orientation.
These three components affect everything from usability and speed to search engine rankings and bounce rates.
1. Mobile Screen Dimensions: Designing for the Right Fit
Smartphone screens come in various sizes, but there are a few common standards designers typically follow: Device TypeCommon Widths (in pixels)Small phones320pxStandard phones360–375pxLarge phones390–414pxTablets768px and above
Designers often start with a 360px width base layout for mobile because it comfortably fits most modern devices. However, instead of hard-coding this width, it’s essential to use responsive units (percentages, em, rem) so the layout adapts smoothly across devices.
Pro Tip: Avoid horizontal scrolling at all costs. Your layout should naturally scale to any screen width, from iPhones to Android tablets.
2. File Size: Keep It Lightweight for Speed
The total page size—measured in kilobytes (KB) or megabytes (MB)—refers to the combined weight of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, videos, and other resources on your web page.
Why It Matters:
Slow-loading websites lead to high bounce rates.
Google uses page speed as a ranking factor.
Mobile users often operate on limited data plans or slower networks.
Ideal Page Size Benchmarks:
Excellent: < 1 MB
Acceptable: 1–2 MB
Risky: > 3 MB
How to Reduce Mobile Website Size:
Compress images using tools like TinyPNG
Use next-gen formats like WebP or AVIF
Minify CSS, JavaScript, and HTML files
Use lazy loading for images and videos
Eliminate unnecessary plugins and third-party scripts
Even small savings in file size can lead to massive improvements in page speed, especially for users on 3G or congested networks.
3. Responsive Layout: Adaptability Is Key
Responsive web design ensures your content automatically adjusts to different screen sizes. This involves:
Fluid grids that use relative units like percentages
Flexible images that scale with screen size
CSS media queries to trigger layout changes at specific breakpoints
Sample CSS Media Query:
cssCopy
Edit
@media (max-width: 480px) { body { font-size: 16px; padding: 10px; } }
Responsive layouts allow your site to work beautifully on everything from small phones to large tablets, maintaining a consistent and user-friendly experience.
4. Viewport Meta Tag: The Foundation of Mobile Optimization
One line of HTML is essential for properly displaying your mobile website:
htmlCopy
Edit
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0">
Without this tag, your site may appear zoomed-out or shrunk on smartphones. The browser will assume your site is designed for desktop and try to scale it down, often with disastrous results. The viewport meta tag tells the browser to use the actual width of the device as the starting point for rendering.
5. Mobile Typography and Touch Targets
Your text and buttons must be optimized for readability and usability on small screens.
Typography:
Use font sizes no smaller than 16px for body text.
Avoid custom fonts that increase page load time.
Stick to high-contrast color schemes for visibility.
Touch Targets:
Buttons should be at least 48x48px.
Keep interactive elements well spaced.
Avoid placing links too close together.
Google penalizes sites with poor mobile usability, so these details directly impact SEO and user satisfaction.
6. Tools for Testing Mobile Website Size
Optimizing your site is one thing—testing it across real devices is another. Luckily, there are plenty of tools available:
Recommended Tools:
Google’s Mobile-Friendly Test – Check usability and issues
PageSpeed Insights – Analyze speed and performance
Chrome DevTools (Device Mode) – Simulate various devices
BrowserStack / LambdaTest – Cross-device, cross-browser testing
Always test your site on multiple screen sizes, especially popular ones like 375x667 (iPhone X) and 414x896 (iPhone 11 Pro Max).
7. Common Mistakes to Avoid
Here are a few critical errors that hurt mobile website size and performance:
Using fixed pixel layouts that break on smaller screens
Neglecting to compress images and assets
Forgetting to include the viewport meta tag
Including large, unoptimized background videos
Overloading the page with third-party scripts or ads
A single oversized image or uncompressed JavaScript file can slow your site down dramatically. Regular audits are essential.
8. Why Mobile Website Size Impacts SEO
Google uses mobile-first indexing, meaning it evaluates your site based on its mobile version. A large, slow, or poorly laid out mobile site can:
Lower your search engine rankings
Increase bounce rates
Hurt conversion rates
Diminish user trust
By keeping your mobile website size lean and efficient, you ensure that users—and search engines—have a great experience.
Final Thoughts
In 2025, mobile traffic dominates the web, and your mobile website size can make or break your digital presence. From layout dimensions and page weight to touch-friendly design and speed optimization, each element plays a critical role in performance and usability.
Here’s a quick checklist to remember:
✅ Use responsive layouts with flexible grids ✅ Optimize images and reduce page file size ✅ Set the viewport meta tag correctly ✅ Ensure fonts and buttons are mobile-friendly ✅ Test performance and usability regularly
A well-optimized mobile website leads to better user engagement, higher conversions, and improved SEO—giving you a competitive advantage in today’s fast-paced digital world.
How a Web Development Company Incorporates A/B Testing into Website Design
Building a visually appealing website is just the beginning. In today’s data-driven digital landscape, continuous improvement is essential—and that’s where A/B testing comes in. A/B testing allows businesses to make informed design decisions based on real user behavior, not assumptions or guesswork. But implementing A/B testing effectively requires more than just swapping out button colors—it calls for a structured, technical, and strategic approach.
That’s why partnering with a professional Web Development Company can be a game-changer. These agencies integrate A/B testing directly into the website design and development process, helping brands boost conversions, improve user engagement, and make smarter design choices from day one.
What Is A/B Testing in Web Design?
A/B testing (also known as split testing) involves comparing two versions of a web page or element to determine which one performs better based on a specific goal—like clicks, form submissions, or purchases. Version A is the original; version B has a variation in a single element (like a headline, image, CTA button, layout, etc.).
Users are randomly shown either version, and the performance is tracked to see which version leads to better results. The insights gained help guide further improvements.
How a Web Development Company Implements A/B Testing
Let’s explore the structured approach that professional web development companies follow to incorporate A/B testing into the design and development lifecycle.
1. Goal Definition and Hypothesis Creation
Before any design changes are made, the development and marketing teams collaborate to define clear conversion goals—such as increasing newsletter sign-ups, reducing cart abandonment, or improving click-through rates.
From here, they create data-backed hypotheses. For example: “We believe changing the CTA button text from ‘Submit’ to ‘Get Free Quote’ will increase form submissions.”
Why it matters: Clear goals ensure the test has direction and measurable outcomes.
2. Designing Variants with UX in Mind
Once the hypothesis is approved, the design team creates one or more variants of the element or layout. These changes are subtle and targeted—avoiding complete overhauls that can confuse the results.
Experienced agencies ensure all variants follow brand guidelines, accessibility standards, and responsive design principles. They also use heatmaps or user recordings (via tools like Hotjar or Microsoft Clarity) to prioritize what needs to be tested.
Why it matters: Smart design changes improve user experience without disrupting site consistency.
3. Development and Integration
Developers integrate the A/B testing setup directly into the website’s architecture using tools like:
Google Optimize (sunset in 2023 but replaced by third-party tools)
Optimizely
VWO (Visual Website Optimizer)
Convert
Custom scripts for CMS or headless setups
They ensure the tests are non-intrusive, fast-loading, and do not affect SEO or accessibility. Some tests may be server-side (especially on dynamic platforms), while others are client-side for simpler UI variations.
Why it matters: Clean code and efficient loading prevent performance drops during testing.
4. Traffic Segmentation and Testing Duration
To ensure statistically valid results, the traffic is split evenly and randomly between variants. A Web Development Company calculates the required sample size and test duration using statistical tools, ensuring the results are not skewed by seasonal trends or low data volume.
They may also segment traffic by location, device type, or referral source—especially in multivariate or enterprise-level testing.
Why it matters: Controlled variables result in reliable, actionable insights.
5. Data Collection and Analytics
All user interactions during the test are tracked using tools like Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or Adobe Analytics. Metrics tracked might include:
Conversion rate
Bounce rate
Time on page
Scroll depth
Click-throughs on specific elements
Results are visualized in dashboards that allow stakeholders to understand performance quickly.
Why it matters: Transparent analytics provide confidence in decision-making.
6. Result Analysis and Deployment
Once a statistically significant result is reached, the winning variant is deployed to 100% of users. The development team merges the tested feature into the main codebase and monitors post-launch performance to ensure consistency.
Additionally, lessons from the test inform future design iterations, creating a culture of continuous improvement.
Why it matters: Ongoing testing ensures the site evolves with user behavior and expectations.
Final Thoughts
A/B testing is not just a marketing tactic—it’s a core pillar of modern website development. When implemented properly, it leads to better decisions, higher ROI, and a stronger user experience. That’s why forward-thinking businesses rely on a Web Development Company that can build A/B testing directly into the web design process.
From hypothesis to deployment, expert developers and designers collaborate to ensure your site doesn’t just look good—it performs better over time. In today’s competitive market, that edge can make all the difference.
How to Avoid Common Mistakes in Web Design in Dubai Projects?
In a city known for architectural wonders and cutting-edge innovation, web design in Dubai must match the same energy—sleek, smart, and user-centric. However, many businesses rush into digital development without a well-thought-out strategy, resulting in poorly designed websites that hurt conversions. From overcomplicated layouts to lack of mobile responsiveness, these mistakes aren’t just common—they're avoidable. Understanding where things usually go wrong can help you stay ahead of competitors and create a digital experience that reflects Dubai’s dynamic market.
Tumblr media
Understand the Audience and Their Behavior:
Dubai's user base is diverse—expats, locals, and tourists interact with digital platforms in different ways. Designing with a generic global template without local customization is a common misstep.
Mistake: Ignoring cultural preferences like right-to-left language support for Arabic.
Solution: Use design frameworks that accommodate both LTR and RTL layouts seamlessly.
Pro Tip: Localized UI/UX design isn’t a bonus; it’s a necessity in the UAE.
Cluttered Navigation = Lost Visitors:
Many websites in Dubai overdo design elements with too many buttons, banners, and animations. This creates visual confusion.
Mistake: Adding complex dropdowns or non-intuitive menus.
Solution: Stick to a clean layout with clear, consistent navigation pathways.
Keep in Mind: User attention spans are short. Every second counts in retaining them.
Neglecting Mobile Optimization:
Smartphone penetration in Dubai is one of the highest globally. Ignoring mobile responsiveness is a major flaw.
Mistake: Designing primarily for desktop users.
Solution: Begin the design process with a mobile-first mindset.
Mobile matters more than you think. A responsive layout influences SEO, bounce rate, and user satisfaction.
SEO and Loading Speed Take a Backseat:
A visually stunning website that loads slowly or ranks poorly will struggle to perform.
Mistake: Using heavy images, videos, and animations that slow down the site.
Solution: Optimize assets, choose reliable hosting, and compress media intelligently.
Bonus Tip: Use Google PageSpeed Insights to regularly audit performance.
Poor Call-to-Actions (CTAs):
Your site should guide visitors toward clear actions—contacting you, purchasing, subscribing, etc.
Mistake: Hiding CTAs in awkward places or using vague phrases.
Solution: Place strong, benefit-driven CTAs above the fold and throughout key sections.
Sample CTA: “Get Your Free Web Consultation – Start Designing Smarter Today!”
Navigating web design in Dubai is about combining creativity with strategy. Avoiding common pitfalls like cluttered layouts, slow performance, and weak mobile UX can elevate your digital brand. Focus on localized design, streamlined navigation, and purposeful interaction cues.
How can I learn UI 5 for SAP Fiori?
To learn UI5 for SAP Fiori, start with understanding the basics of HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript, as these are foundational technologies used in SAPUI5. Then, move on to SAPUI5 itself, which is a UI development toolkit for building responsive web applications. SAP’s official documentation (SAPUI5 SDK - Demo Kit) is a great place to begin. Explore key concepts like MVC architecture, controls, data binding, and component-based development. You can also use the SAP Business Application Studio or SAP Web IDE for hands-on practice. Build sample apps to apply what you learn, and gradually dive into Fiori design guidelines to create apps that align with SAP standards. Practice regularly and stay updated with SAP Community and blogs for tips and new updates.
As per my experience, learning from Anubhav Training made the journey smooth and clear.
